This Thursday, October 4th at 11am we will be releasing two iterations of our 1793 Barley Wine. One aged in a Cognac barrel and the other in a Sherry barrel.
Smelling of raisins, cinnamon, and cognac, and pouring a deep amber colour, Cognac Barrel-Aged 1793 Barley Wine appears soft, mellow, and slightly boozy on the tongue, with a rich body, notes of toffee, oak, and dried fruit. It finishes dry and clean with a faint bitterness and registers 11.9% ABV and 70 IBU.
Sherry Barrel-Aged 1793 Barley Wine brings together the classic toffee, bitter orange, and dried fruit notes of barley wine with the bone-dry, citrus, dried-grape, and fruit blossom notes of the Tio Pepe Sherry barrel it was aged in. It is 10% ABV and 70 IBU.
Both versions will be available in 375mL bottles, and we will also have a limited quantity of Cognac Barrel-Aged 1793 Barley Wine in sharable 750mL bottles (limit one per person). They are ready to drink right now and pair perfectly with family, friends, and Thanksgiving dinner.

If you visited the Muddy York Brewing Co. Taproom this past winter and were handed a bowl of chili, soup, or stew, it was crafted with care (and our beer) by the one and only Chef Kieron Meaney – aka Chef K. This August 11th, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the full brunt of his culinary skills as he teams up with his buddy, Dave. They’ll be roasting a whole pig in a La Caja China (China Box). This is a method of roast-grilling pork traditional in Louisianna. By enclosing the pig inside a sealed metal box, the coal and smoke infuse incredible flavours into the meat in half the time it takes to cook over an open flame. That’s why it’s also known as the Cajun Microwave. Do you know what else is a Louisianan tradition? Voodoo. Voodoo is as Louisianan as apologizing unnecessarily is in Canada. Beer, mains, and sides are all included in the $60 ticket price. They're on sale now at the brewery and by phone (416) 619-7819. Come and get yours and enjoy some of K & Dave’s Toronto via Louisianna voodoo. Music by DJ JD! fb.com/events/469504943519473/

Back in February, we collaborated with Sawdust City to create what has since become one of our favourite beers that we’ve ever brewed; Infinite Zest Belgian Wit IPA w/ Lime Zest & Idaho 7. While its name is certainly a mouthful, it’s appropriate as we think you’ll want to drink many mouthfuls of it. We were briefly selling 500mL bottles of the stuff, but they disappeared quickly. Good news – it’s now available in 355mL cans at the Muddy York Retail Shop. This is a clean, bright, Belgian style IPA with big notes of lime from the generous amounts of lime zest, and tropical, citrusy hop character from Idaho 7.
Ward 20: Ontario Pale Ale, a single hop, single malt pale ale made from all Ontario ingredients is now available in 473mL cans. Hopped with Chinook from VQH Farms and malt from the great Maltsters at Barn Owl Malt, this is a hazy, floral, citrusy pale ale with notes of white grapefruit and pine. We sold cans of Ward 20 for one weekend in April to much fanfare. Now it’s back and yours to enjoy.
