We’ll be releasing two new collab-beers on Friday at 4pm with esteemed citizens of Durham County. First up is Old Sticks In The Mud Pale Ale, a collaboration with 5 Paddles Brewing. Mike, Ed, Ian, & Spencer came up through the homebrewing ranks at the same time as Jeff and were the first guys to make the leap from homebrewing to professional brewing. They’ve been a tremendous resource and help not only to Muddy York but to countless other brewers, aspiring and professional. Jeff made his first commercial brew with them, Mustachio Oatmeal Stout. They’ve been brewing amazing beer for a long time and, if there’s a more fun bunch of old farts brewing beer anywhere, it’s news to us. The beer is a hybrid pale ale - blending the best elements of old school and new school pale ales and double dry-hopped with Cashmere and Hallertau Blanc. It’s 5.6%, 50 IBUs and will be available on tap and in 355ml cans.
Next up is Hausgebräu In Das Haus Weizenbock, brewed in collaboration with the Durham Homebrewers. We’ve taken the same approach as 5 Paddles when it comes to supporting homebrewers so we invited the Durham Homebrewers to brew a beer of their choice at Muddy York. The result is a rich, malty and fruity wheat-based ale combining everything we love about Dunkleweizens with the strength and structure of a bock. It’s 7% ABV and 20 IBU and will be on-tap and in 500ml bottles.
