Resistance Dry-Hopped Lager Returns

Starting today, in addition to Cervisia Saison and Haberdasher Hefeweizen, you’ll be able to buy singles, four-packs, six-packs, or two-fours of Resistance Dry-Hopped Lager and Gaslight Helles Lager in short cans. As with our initial release of Resistance Dry-Hopped Lager last year, we’ll be donating a portion of the proceeds to organizations helping to fight oppression throughout the world. This year, we’ll once again be raising money for Black Lives Matter and LGBT Youthline and adding The White Helmets and Indspire to the list.

Every day in Syria, volunteer rescue workers from the White Helmets rush to the scenes of bombings to pull people out from under the rubble and carry them to safety. Their courageous and selfless work has given hope to millions of civilians.

Indspire helps Indigenous students in Canada complete their post-secondary education by offering bursaries, scholarships, and awards to those students who need financial aid.

We’ll be announcing new beer releases in short cans over the next weeks and months, so stay tuned.

See you at the brewery,

Many Beers, Many Vessels, Three Years of Muddy York

This year, on March 3rd, Muddy York Brewing is celebrating its 3rd Anniversary with a big old party. We will be releasing TWO new beers:

1) Our Barrel-Aged Plank Road Baltic Porter has been napping in a Tawny Port Barrel awaiting this day. It’s a medium-bodied, elegantly mellow 8.5% ABV, and tastes vinous and oaky with warm notes of alcohol, Port, and dark licorice. It will be available in 355mL bottles, and there’s a limit of six per person.

2) Infinite Zest is a collaboration between Muddy York Brewing and Sawdust City. Sam Corbeil drove down from Gravenhurst a couple of months back with some great ideas. The result is a Belgian White IPA with Lime Zest and Idaho 7. For you lit geeks, it’s named after David Foster Wallace’s epic 1996 novel, Infinite Jest. For you LIT beer geeks, this is a clean, bright, Belgian style IPA with big, big, notes of lime due to copious amounts of added lime zest. It is hopped with piney, tropical, citrusy, Idaho 7 and tastes like the best dream you ever had, then woke up, went back to sleep, and had that same exact dream again.

In addition to the new releases, we’ll have extra-special beers on cask, sliders and salads courtesy of Knuckle Sandwich, some magical entertainment by @christine_lynn_magic and, for the first time in our three-year history, 473mL cans of Gaslight Helles Lager.

Barrels, Casks, Bottles, Cans, and Sliders. Bring your party shoes.

Cheers,

From all of us at Muddy York Brewing Co.

The Official Taproom Grand Opening Party

There will be beer.

Muddy York Brewing Co. is pleased to invite you to The Official Taproom Grand Opening Party on Saturday, September 30th. We’ll be partying from 11-8pm in our newly built taproom located at 22 Cranfield Road. Marvel at our custom built tap tower, which will feature some crowd favourites along side lesser-known, special offerings, beer on cask, prizes, bottles, growlers, and merchandise. Knuckle Sandwich will be supplying delicious eats, and vinyl will be spun by DJ JD. Join us as we celebrate another milestone in our craft-beer journey.

Cheers,
Muddy York Brewing Co.

Resistance Dry-Hopped Lager

Resistance Dry-Hopped Lager from Muddy York has a light-body and a sharp mind. The baby brother of our Gaslight Helles Lager, Resistance presents light and malty on the tongue followed by a citrusy kick courtesy of our old friend Sorachi Ace Hops.

We had originally intended to give this new release a different name, but as a direct reaction to the events in Charlottesville, we felt compelled to support causes we believe in. We have clarity in our convictions but don’t always know the correct or most effective way to respond to the cascade of events. So, we’re putting our trust in activists and organizations who are already doing work on the front lines of these issues who are too often on the receiving end of the tyranny that seeks to deny the progress of social, economic and environmental justice.

Though we are appalled by the ongoing crises in the US, Canada is certainly not immune to clashes of culture, race, or economics. That is why we are opting to donate part of the proceeds from the sales of Resistance Dry Hopped Lager to Idle No More, Black Lives Matter Toronto, LGBT Youthline, and Lifeline Syria.

We recognize that not all of our customers share our political viewpoint. Our aim here is to open civilized dialog and support those members of the community who need all the help they can get. We hope to see all of you here at the Muddy York Brewing Co. Taproom and Bottle Shop. We’d be happy to discuss any of this with you. Over a beer of course.

Fight the good fight,
Muddy York Brewing Co.

A Hazy Affair

Good Day!

Hot off the heals of our new Pavilion Pale Ale release a few weeks ago, we are set to introduce Hazy Affair Hoppy Wheat. It’s a 4.5% session beer that showcases Sorachi Ace and Galaxy hops. It’s hazy straw coloured with a foamy head and boasts an ample white grapefruit finish with a touch of lemon. This light beer is big on flavour – the perfect way to closeout the summer.

We also want to mention our Gaslight Helles will be more readily available in the retail shop starting tomorrow. We’re continuing to work on keeping up with demand on this one folks! As always, check the retail store page see what is in the fridge. It's an up-to-the-minute list of what is in the icebox.

Soak In Every Last Bit of Summer

G’day!

Boy, it’s been a hot one out there! That's why we’ve been working really hard to try to keep our retail fridge stocked with ice-cold hand-crafted beers. A new one to hit the inside of our ice box is Pavilion Pale Ale, a classic American pale ale that’s simple and clean. Hopped with a medley of cascade and centennial that imparts flower and citrus aromas with a moderate bitterness. So slap on your bathing costume, grab a cold one and soak up the sun!

Today our retail store is brimming with brews! We’re sure we’ve got a little something for everyone, but you can always check our Retail Store page to ensure we have your favourites in stock.

We’ll be taking part in the inaugural Leslieville Beer Fest August 27th! They'll be shutting down Dundas Street East for a good old fashioned neighbourhood street party! Regional brewers, local food and community artisans. And for all you Gaslight Helles Lager fans; we’ve got a new favourite t-shirt for you! In unisex AND a very attractive ladies fit. Available at the retail bottleshop.

Cheers, stay cool and see you soon!

Count-Down to Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day, eh!

First off, we at Muddy York Brewing Co. are really proud to be Canadian, it's truly the greatest country on earth, in our humble opinion! We are also super proud to be your independent, local brewery. It was only one short year ago, on Canada Day, that we hosted our first pop-up retail bottle-shop. As we've grown, we can now serve you on a full-time basis and we'll be open for Canada Day again!

Canada Day Weekend Hours:
Thursday June 30th - 11am - 7pm
Friday July 1st - 11am - 4pm
Saturday July 2nd - closed
Sunday July 3rd - closed

What will we have on offer? I know many of you have been asking for the return of our Muddy York Porter. We've heard you, and we'll have some bottled up! Also returning to the retail store is our Ward 3: Chinook Pale Ale. This is a single malt, single hop Pale Ale with 100% Canadian barley malt and 100% Ontario grown Chinook hops from VQH Farms. If that isn't Canada Day in a glass, I don't know what is. Along with those two exciting beers, we'll have our customer favourite Gaslight Helles and always refreshing Haberdasher Hefeweizen.

Cheers and have an excellent weekend!

From all of us at Muddy York Brewing Co.

P.S.
We also want to wish everyone a safe and fun-filled Pride Weekend. #loveislove
