Refuel With R-100 I.P.A.

By jove, just when you thought we were done with new releases, another one comes out of nowhere! Alright, full disclosure here, we are just bursting at the seams with hoppy goodness here at Muddy York HQ and quite frankly we are running out of room in our hop freezer. Necessity is the mother of invention, so a brand new intensely hopped beer was created! Introducing our latest release R-100 I.P.A. This is a big one at 7% and 70 IBUs. Magnum, Topaz and Equinox give this beer substantial hop flavour with notes of tropical fruit.

If you are wondering what the heck the R-100 was, let us fill you in. In 1930 a British built dirigible – large helium or hydrogen airship – crossed the Atlantic and circled Toronto’s skyline. As you can imagine the citizens at the time had never seen anything like it! Work stopped, traffic halted and rooftops were packed to catch a glimpse of this massive humming flying machine. Airplanes at the time, were small, cramped, and only capable of short flights. Dirigibles, by comparison, had the potential to fly for days without stopping for fuel. The R-100 lifespan was short lived, and was later scrapped after the sister ship, R-101 crashed in France en route to India, ending Britain’s Imperial Airship scheme.

Drop into the retail store to have a sample and perhaps pick up a few bottles of this colossal beer!

Take care y’all!

From all of us at Muddy York Brewing Co.

p.s. We'll be at Torontoberfest Thanksgiving Day – The Brewer’s Backyard returns for the final event of the year, at Evergreen Brick Works on Monday, October 10th. All ages, delicious sausages and great beer!!
